Medication Disclaimer & Insurance Coverage
Dr. Jamil may prescribe GLP-1 receptor agonists and other FDA-approved weight loss medications when clinically appropriate and when patients meet established medical criteria. Treatment recommendations are individualized and based on a comprehensive evaluation.
Please be advised that GLP-1 medications can be costly, and insurance coverage varies significantly. Coverage is not guaranteed, even when medical necessity criteria are met. Patients are encouraged to contact their insurance provider directly or review their plan’s formulary to determine medication coverage, prior authorization requirements, and potential out-of-pocket costs.Type your paragraph here.

Bariatrics is the branch of medicine that deals with the causes, prevention, and treatment of obesity.
Dr. Jamil has been certified by the American Board of Obesity Medicine since 2012. He only practices evidence-based weight loss regimens. He takes pride in educating and helping his patients lose weight. There are many benefits to treating obesity other than lowering your dress size.
Findings in a report from the American Heart Association noted that reducing obesity is the single, most changeable action that can be taken to prevent sleep apnea. Studies have shown that losing weight can lower your blood pressure into a healthy range. Obesity puts more strain on your heart and can lead to diabetes. Even without any other risk factors, overweight and obese individuals are more likely to develop heart disease and/or have a stroke.
At I Care Internal Medicine & Bariatrics each patient is evaluated and given an individual weight loss plan. All diets and medications are medically supervised and tailored to fit your needs and goals. There is no "cookie-cutter diet" that will work for everyone. Although we practice nonsurgical weight loss, sometimes surgery is necessary and Dr. Jamil refers his patients to some of the best bariatric surgeons in Arizona. Even if surgery is what you're looking for, we can help get you started on a medically supervised diet and exercise program, which is insurance required prior to any weight loss surgery and may be required for up to 12 months prior to surgery approval (requirements vary- please check with your health plan for specifics).
